Twomey — a 29-year technology industry veteran — to the position of Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. He reports to Greg Winner, GainSpan CEO and president.
"As GainSpan moves into the next phase of company growth, we’ll look to Robert's formidable sales expertise and knowledge in driving executive level relationships with Tier 1 accounts and building go-to-market strategies that deliver results, to help propel GainSpan to the forefront of the IoT market," said Winner.
Twomey joins the GainSpan team with extensive expertise in wireless and Wi-Fi technology from his days at Agere Systems, Airgo Networks and Qualcomm. Most recently vice president of worldwide sales at HMicro, Inc., Twomey will be responsible for all aspects of GainSpan’s global sales, including Tier 1 and strategic customer engagement, as well as for managing the company’s network of distributors and representatives.
In the past 11 years, Twomey has generated significant shareholder value for companies such as sTec, which was acquired by Western Digital/HGST, Luxterra, Inc. (acquired by Molex), Qualcomm, and Airgo Networks (acquired by Qualcomm). His work has included pioneering innovative technologies into volume revenue, managing sales/FAE teams of 20-200, building sales teams internationally, and establishing personal contacts with CXO-level personnel in the industry.
